The Conversation
A child asked his father, "Where are you going?"
And "When are you coming home to me?"
The father replied, "I must leave for a while,
But I'll be back soon. Just trust in me."
The child said, "But tell me why you must leave.
I want you to be here with me."
The father replied, "I want to be here, too,
But I'll be back so soon. Just trust in me."
"I'm going away to prepare
A way of life peaceful and free."
The father asked, "Son, do you believe?"
He replied, "I'll keep watch for you. Trust in me.
And I'll tell all my friends that you're coming back.
And I'll take care of things here at home.
Faith and courage we shall not lack.
For you'll be back soon, no more to roam."

The golden rose stands for thanksgiving. It is with unending thanks and utmost respect that I pay tribute to those of our military who have had to sacrifice so much including leaving children behind who can't understand why. May God bring them home safely and quickly.
