A continuation of the letters from supporters. God bless each of you for your support of the soldiers abroad!

Below is a request I received in email and though a little different than the other letters on these pages, I felt it was extremely important and worthy of my passing it along. Please give it your consideration when reading these letters. Thank you!

This prayer request is from a soldier in Iraq who believes in prayer. You may have already received it and you may receive it again but I believe it needs to be passed around as much as possible. We are at a critical point in Iraq and only God can make the difference and bring victory.
Michael

Dear Friends,
Please pass this on to your friends and your church family.
Thanks.

PRAYER REQUEST!!

Captain Lyle Shackelford Battalion Chaplain HHD, 57th Transportation Battalion

As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31)
Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and family members and those within our churches to pray specifically for the electoral process.

Historically, the previous totalitarian regime would not allow individual citizens to vote.
Democracy will not be realized in Iraq if intelligent and competent officials are not elected to those strategic leadership positions within the emerging government; freedom will not have an opportunity to ring throughout this country if the voting process fails.

Announce this prayer request to your contacts throughout your churches, neighborhoods, and places of business. Those with leadership roles within the local church post this message in as many newsletters and bulletins as possible. There is unlimited potential for God's presence in this process but if we do not pray then our enemy will prevail (See Ephesians 6:10-17) A prayer vigil prior to the end of the month may be an innovative opportunity for those within your sphere of influence to pray. This is a political battle that needs spiritual intervention. A powerful story about God's intervention in the lives of David's mighty men is recorded in 2 Samuel 23:8-33. David and his warriors were victorious because of God's intervention. We want to overcome those who would stand in the way of freedom. David's mighty men triumphed over incredible odds and stood their ground and were victorious over the enemies of Israel. (Iraqi insurgents' vs God's praying people). They don't stand a chance.

I will pray with my soldiers before they leave on their convoys and move outside our installation gates here at Tallil. My soldiers are at the nerve center of the logistic operation to deliver the voting machines and election ballots. They will be driving to and entering the arena of the enemy. This is not a game for them it is a historical mission that is extremely dangerous.
No voting machines or ballots. No elections.

Your prayer support and God's intervention are needed to give democracy a chance in this war torn country.

Thank you for reading this e-mail. Please give this e-mail a wide dissemination.
Thank you for your prayer support for me and my family. Stand firm in your battles.

Blessings, Lyle

Hello!

This poem was written for all our guys who are fighting for our country...and our freedom...as well as their own.

I, like many others wish there were more we could do besides to let them know our prayers are forever with them and their families...and most of all when we can we can live in a world with peace..."Blessed be the peacemakers...for (they) shall inherit the earth"...and our "motherland" shall always be blessed because when there is a purpose or a cause we, being the "peace makers" will go in and always help others. And for this purpose God has blessed America. Through the men and women who have stood together through it all. And I say "God bless you!"

Please drop by my poetry site and check out my other poetry and especially "What Was The Cause" and "Standing On A Hillside So Far Away".

O Dear Sweet Lord .. JESUS

I come before You this morning uplifting the souls.. the spirits .. of these 31
marines to Your heavenly arms and saving grace .. You know who they are O Lord ..

Lord .. be with their families .. touch them mightily I pray ... allow them to feel Your presence in the midst of their sorrow .. give them that peace which can only come from You O Lord

Jesus .. I pray that each Marine was delivered safely to Your waiting arms by Your heavenly escorting angels .. I pray that Your joy at having them home once more with You overshadowed their leaving this earth and all who are precious to them.

Thank You Jesus for Your infinite mercies and lovingkindness.

I pray, dear Lord, whatever caused the crash, will be corrected that such a crash will be averted in the future. We realize all such accidents immediately takes all persons to the glorious light of our Lord but if it be your will, O Lord, help us to prevent the loss of life in this war, all persons are needed to continue to fight on terror plus the loved ones of those gone on are suffering. Bless them, strengthen them that they will accept through the blood and love of our Lord, the passing of their loved ones.

Be with all our service personnel, keep them safe now and through this upcoming dangerous weekend, bless them, we pray.

To those friends and family of the crash victims:

Our heart goes out to you and grieves with your own hearts. May you find the peace that only God can provide and the strength that you will need during this time. May the persons who need to do this find the reason for this so that this will not occur again. Peace be yours.

I pray each and every day for your safety and for your safe return. I am proud of all of you and the risks you take with your lives being laid on the line every day for each and every American. As the daughter of a wonderful man who fought in WWII, I salute you from the bottom of my heart and may God Bless You Bountifully and watch over you always.

Julie

There are more Americans that praise what all of you are doing, no matter where you may be in this world. So, please ignore the ones that try to bring your morale down. It isn't worth the effort to even keep the words in your memory. We love you all.
